Nicklas Norling
Research Fellow

Nicklas Norling is Research Fellow at the Joint Center and a PhD Candidate at Johns Hopkins University, SAIS.

He holds an MA degree in Political Science from Stockholm University. His articles have appeared in Asian Survey, Central Asian Survey and other journals and his comments on regional events in Asia frequently appear in both national broadcasts and the international print media.

He currently specializes in Central Asia at the center, and his main expertise are in the fields of foreign policy, infrastructure, trade, and energy issues. He is also the initiator of a project on energy and confidence-building in Eurasia. The project is a joint effort in cooperation with the Institute of Political and International Studies, Tehran, Iran. He is proficient in Russian, French, and speaks some Persian.
