Hua Han is an associated professor and director at the centre for Arms Control and Disarmament at the School of International Studies (SIS) at Peking University , China . She is an expert on, and teaches courses in International Arms Control and Disarmament Politics, Foreign Policies in South Asian countries, US politics and Foreign Policy in Asia-Pacific region.
Hua Han received her PhD at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She has also studied at the Department of International Politics and the Institute of International Relations at Peking University.
In addition to her studies in China, Hua Han has been a visiting researcher at School of International Affairs, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Sweden, the Stimson center and Monterey Center for Nonproliferation in Washington DC, the Victoria University, Canada. She was also a visiting researcher at the Silk Road Studies Program in the spring of 2005.
Hua Han has also written extensively on arms control/nonproliferation and China’s policy toward South Asia for journals and newspapers in China and abroad. Such as Rediff.com(India), Outlook(India), Monitor (US), Nan Fang Weekends(China), Newsweek(China), Beijing Youth(China), Beijing Review(China), etc.. She has been involved in Track II dialogues and activities. She chairs the Center for Arms Control and Disarmament at SIS, Peking University is the second university-based program on arms control studies.
