Cooperation and partnership, both formal and informal, is central to the Program for Contemporary Silk Road Studies and its research. At present, cooperation is ongoing with a large number of research institutes both in the Silk Road region and elsewhere. These cooperations are under continuous development and expansion.

Currently the Program is in the formalization phase where more informal cooperation and partnerships are formalized, and hence the cooperations presented here will be considerably expanded as the formalization process continues.

SAIS, The Johns Hopkins University

The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of The Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C., is one of the United States’ leading graduate schools devoted to the study of international relations.

Korean Institute of International Studies (KIIS), Seoul

KIIS is an independent research institute and think-tank founded in 1965 to provide theoretical and practical foundations for the promotion of international cooperation and relations. The institute sponsors numerous international conferences each year and host bilateral roundtable conferences with both China and Russia several times a year in conjunction with many other foreign institutes.

Department of East Asian Languages, Lund University

The Department of East Asian Languages at Lund University, located in Southern Sweden, is focused on research and education concerning East and South-East Asian languages and Area Studies.

Foreign Affairs University, Beijing

The Foreign Affairs College of China is the sole institution of higher learning affiliated with the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Its mission is to meet the nation's needs for well-trained diplomats, researchers and professional personnel in international affairs, international economy and international law.

Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS), Beijing

The Chinese Academy of Social Science is the highest research organization in China in the fields of philosophy and social sciences. Its graduate school is ranked as one of the finest in China and aims at fostering high-level professionals equipped with a professional background and wide-ranging scientific and cultural knowledge.

Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Stockholm

SIPRI conducts research on questions of conflict and cooperation of importance for international peace and security, with the aim of contributing to an understanding of the conditions for peaceful solutions of international conflicts and for a stable peace.
