A member of the political council of the governing National Movement- Democrats party Mr. Bokeria has been a member of parliament since 2005, serving as deputy chairman of the committee on legal affairs and a member of the committee on defense and security. Previously he worked for the Rule of Law project of the Liberty Institute, IRIS Georgia and before that at the Caucasian institute of Peace, Democracy and Development. He has also been a radio/tv/newspaper journalist. He did graduate work at Leicester University (UK) and received his bachelor's degree in history from Tbilisi State University.

Ambassador Vasil Sikharulidze became Georgia's ambassador to the United States in March 2006 following service as First Deputy Minister of defense, Undersecretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, deputy head of the Georgian mission to NATO in Brussels, and head of the NATO division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. From 1996 to 200 he worked for the committee on defense and security of the Georgian parliament and before that was the executive director of the Atlantic Council of Georgia. Amb. Sikharulidze began his career as a psychiatrist after graduating from Tbilisi State Medical University.
