Conference on
"Comparing Different Approaches to Conflict Prevention and Management: Korean Peninsula and the Taiwan Strait"
Stockholm 16-17 December 2005
Presenting:
The conference will have approximately thirty participants from the academic and policy communities in Asia, Europe and North America. Those interested in participating in the conference should contact the organizers: Dr. Niklas Swanström [nswanstrom /at/ silkroadstudies.org], or Sofia K. Ledberg [sledberg /at/ silkroadstudies.org]
After the participation has been confirmed, the presenting participants should submit a one page abstract by the end of September, addressing any adequate topic within the fields of conflict prevention and conflict management with special regard to the Korean Peninsula and the Taiwan Strait. The focus can be on either of the two case studies, or include the two in a comparative manner.
The selected participants should then submit a full text of approx. 6000 words by December 5. After the conclusion of the conference, these papers will be compiled and published as an edited volume in early 2006. As the abstracts are submitted, further information on the set topics will be posted on our website.
Auditing:
This is an open conference, free of charge, and it will possible to attend the discussion without presenting a paper. However, places are restricted and those interested in auditing should email the conference organizer Sofia K. Ledberg [sledberg /at/ silkroadstudies.org].
Please note that the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and Silk Road Studies Program will not be able to cover any expenses for the auditing participants and that any costs with regard to transportation and housing etc. will be carried by the participant.
