The conference has been made possible through funding

Asia Foundation (Seoul) , the
Swedish Research Council and the
Folke Bernadotte Academy.
_______________________________ Mikael Weissmann will be a Visiting Fellow and Lecturer at the School of International Studies at Renmin University, Beijing. Weissmann will also be a Visiting Researcher and Lecturer at the China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing. Weissmann will also undertake research on informal networks, conflict management and conflict prevention. _______________________________ Dr Swanström held an Open lecture on the New Silk Road and the potential for peaceful development at China Foreign Affairs University. _______________________________ Dr. Swanström presented a paper on"The Korean Peninsula in the U.S.’s Post-9/11 Military-Security Paradigm" at the First ROK-U.S.-China Future Forum". The conference was organized at Hallym University in South Korea. _______________________________ Dr. Swanström visited Shanghai. He gave one lecture at the Shanghai Institute for International Relations on conflict management and regional cooperation in Northeast Asia, and one on Multilateralism in Northeast Asia at Fudan University. _______________________________ Dr. Swanström was the Chair for the session on NATO and Northeast Asia at the annual conference on NATO at Peking University. _______________________________ Dr. Swanström gave an open lecture at China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing China. _______________________________ Dr. Swanström hold a lecture on regional cooperation in Northeast Asia and the future of the Six-party talks at Chinese Academy of Social Science, Beijing. _______________________________ Open lecture on "China’s Foreign Policy Choices and Security Strategies in East Asia" [invitation] by Prof. QIN Yaqing, Vice President and Professor of International Studies, China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing, China. The lecture is organised in association with the Swedish Institute. _______________________________ Dr. Swanström will be a Senior Visiting Fellow at Renmin University in Beijing. He will teach a curse on Conflict Management, Conflict Prevention at Renmin University. He will also be engaged at the China Foreign Affairs University as a lecturer. Dr. Swanström will also undertake research on regional cooperation, conflict management and conflict prevention.
